1. Sridevi

“Awi Wiwi Wiwi Wiwi '' if you recognise the lyrics of this song, you probably are not only a big Sridevi fan but a Bollywood fan as well. Ever tried dancing to this song, the way Sridevi did? Her expressions add a whole new experience to the performance. She could add a comic touch with them or vibes of revenge like she did with ‘Mein Teri Dushman’ in her Nagin dance in the movie Nagina in 1986. Dancers all over India have replicated these moves, but Sridevi’s nuances to the song remain untouched. Her talent was incredible with most of her movies becoming huge hits. Namely, Mr India, Chandini, Nagina, Chaal Baaz. She gave us memorable scenes with her dancing capabilities. Even in the smallest of roles, she was able to make an impact. For e.g In the movie English Vinglish, she imitated Michael Jackson’s moves in a very small dance scene. That scene became memorable because of the charm she added to it. Her career spanned for more than 4 decades. Some of her best dances are ‘oh meri chandini’, ‘Mere Haathon Mein’, ‘Mein teri dushman’ and ‘Hawa Hawai’.

2. Madhuri Dixit

From the time she questioned “Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’ to the time she went spinning around in ‘Dola Re’, Madhuri Dixit has had millions absolutely glued to the screen. Her dance moves and style seeped into almost every choreography among dance lovers. She stole our hearts in the 1980s when she moved to ‘ek do teen’ with Anil Kapoor to the time she danced with Ranbir Kapoor to ‘Ghagra’. After the incredible success of Hum Aapke Hain Kaun Madhuri’s dance moves were replicated in every wedding sangeet in India. ‘Didi tera Devar Deewana’ and the ‘Joote De Do Paise Le Lo’ were quite the rage during those days. Another sizzling performance is the contemporary dance style she showcased in ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’ with Karishma Kapoor.

3. Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan exploded on the silver screen with his iconic move ‘ek pal ka jeena’ in the movie ‘Kaho na pyaar hai’ in 2000, debut movie. Then, there was no turning back for him. All his performances have been incredible with his effortless dancing which he showcased in ‘Main aisa kyun hoon’ in the movie Lakshya. This was followed by a very entertaining Dhoom 2 on the silver screen. He continued to steal our hearts in the catchy number ‘Senorita’ in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and in the movie Bang, Bang with Katrina Kaif. Besides his dapper good looks, Hrithik Roshan has always created a buzz for his dancing skills.

4. Tiger Shroff

Tiger Shroff has evolved as one of the highest paid actors because of his amazing martial art and dance skills. He is well known for his flexible and quick dance movements. His popularity increased after he showcased his dance skills to the tunes of ‘Ding Dang’, ‘Mundiyan’ Beat Pe Booty’ and ‘Jai Shiv Shankar’ with Hrithik Roshan in the movie war. He is known for his freestyle dance moves with nuances of hip hop, contemporary and breakdance. He has great passion for dance, even though he is a late starter. He dreams of opening a dance school one day accessible to everyone all over India.

5. Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai has always been a charmer, even more so because she’s a successful dancer in most of her movies. Aishwarya has done some amazing performances with Indian Classical moves like Bharatnatyam and Kathak. She took our breath away when she twirled with Madhuri Dixit in Dola re. Her style in ‘Kajra re’ made us hit the rewind button several times. Some of her most memorable dance performances have been ‘Crazy Kiya Re’ in Dhoom 2 and ‘Nimbooda’ in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. Aishwarya’s expertise on screen could be accrued to her being a trained classical dancer

6. Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra just took our breath away in Pinga. Why not? She has trained in Western classical dance and Kathak. It is no wonder that the dance video Pinga has over 150 million views till date. Being trained has really added to the finer nuances of her dancing and that is why all her dance performances in Bollywood are a big hit. She made ‘desi girl’ popular all over the world with her moves. Everyone wanted to get on the dance floor after watching the highly entertaining ‘tune mari entriyaan’. Priyanka in her own style, taught us how to make an entry. Then she taught us how to have fun on a ship with ‘Gallan Goodiyaan’

7. Alia Bhatt

She is one of the youngest stars in Bollywood today, with outstanding performances year after year. It seems like Alia Bhatt started everything too soon, from dancing to acting. She started her dance training with Shiamak Davar’s dance school at the age of four. She also dedicated a year to training in classical dance. For iconic performance in ‘Ghar more pardesiyan’ she trained for two whole months. She showed off her dance skills in ‘Gulabo’, ‘Kar Gayi Chul’ and ‘Let’s Nacho’. When she danced to ‘Radhe on the dance floor’ everyone wanted to be a student in college just to do that dance. When we hit discos on the weekends, the night never ends, until we dance like Alia to ‘Saturday, Saturday’.

8. Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif was almost written off as a bad dancer in Bollywood. After she joined Bollywood, she was determined to improve her dancing skills. She started training with Kathak Guru, Veera Krishnan regularly. This training boosted her self-confidence and her capabilities as a dancer. Ever since, she has given us some amazing performances that have been remembered even more than the movie itself. Songs like ‘Sheila ki Jawani’, ‘Chikni Chameli’ and ‘Kamli’. After ‘Kala Chashma’ all of us want to wear Kala Chashma and dance.
